It’s a really simple little cooperative game with great components and vibrant art. It certainly takes children a few rounds before they really understand what they should be doing, but that’s why it’s a great co-op game to have adults or more experienced players help out in decision-making.

ESCAPE THE DRAGON is super easy to learn, light co-operative game and our son (who is 9) really enjoyed taking control of the decision making – deciding whether to move a child closer to the village or start a new child on their journey presented him with some choices that weren’t overwhelming but definitely impacted on whether we needed to sacrifice a dream token that turn. The spell dice powers are easy to implement and they can make a big difference to progress. A nice touch is that there are plenty of dream tokens in the box so you can make it easier for younger children by starting with more, or harder for slightly older ones by starting with fewer.

Escape the Dragon is a fantastic children’s game that I wholeheartedly recommend. It serves as a great entry-level or gateway game for those looking to explore the cooperative genre, and it remains enjoyable for adults as well. If you’re searching for a fun, engaging game for younger players, look no further, Escape the Dragon is a fantastic option!
