Game Overview

A private detective club welcomes new participants and you can’t wait to unveil their secrets. You’ll seat at a table with extraordinary personalities: an ancient philosopher, a head of the Dagon cult, a space tourist and many more.

Dubious is an exciting story-telling game of deduction. Each player gets a random combination of an occupation and a secret and then answers a series of questions, so only the shrewdest ones can guess their identity. You’ll need a good chunk of creativity and deduction to create the perfect amount of doubt in your rivals’ minds!

Listen carefully to what others say about themselves: what mood they are in, what they are wearing, what they have in their pockets… Any detail can lead to the correct guess, so do your best to expose your opponents and become the most ingenious detective!

I love Dubious so I was excited to see another Dubious but with different settings. This one has Sci-fi, Cthulhu, and Antiquity. Great settings fun new occupations and secrets to play with. Worth checking out, especially if you liked the first one.

As with any party game that requires creativity, Dubious: New Realms is as good as the group playing it. There are elements of role playing, imagination and coming up with interesting answers relatively fast. If the players commit to it and truly immerse themselves to the experience, the game is a lot of fun!
